In some native American cultures are you automatically married after 6 months of a relationship?

Me and my girlfriend have been dating for 9 months and were very happy together. I am native American and she is not. But a tribal friend of mine told me recently that it is our tribal custom to be married after 6 months of relationship an courtship. Can somebody please verify this with me?
