Want a new phone BUT...?

I currently have an iPhone and have had it for the past year, but I have a 2 year contract on it. Here's the dilemma: I want a new cell phone because I cracked the screen and it appears to be a LOT of $$ to get it fixed. HOWEVER, termination fee is apparently $325?!!? Is there any way to get around this termination fee so that I can get another type of phone? I do not plan on getting another iPhone because I personally did not like it. Curse this contract!
