What is the difference between courting and dating?

I always hear people going back and forth about dating vs courtship. There seems to be no difference to me, except that normal people like dating, and homeschoolers, nerds, geeks, buckteeth, etc. champion the cause of Courtship. WHAT THE HELL IS THE DAM DIFFERENCE!!!
