Unappreciated gift dilemma, advice?

My sister inlaw made a blanket for my sisters baby daughter. She hand painted it and put alot of effort in it. Problem is im pretty sure my sister is not going to like it because I know her tastes. She s in to beautiful and expensive stuff. Im sure that although she might not verbalize it, shell think the blanket is really, really ugly to the extent that im afraid of giving it to her. is there anything I could tell her to help her appreciate my sisterin laws effort? Theres no question the blanket is not of her taste at all. My sister in law lives in another country. What can I tell her to soften her response to the blanket?
