Does everyone truly have a soul mate?

I believe there's no real soul mate, it's just a luck of the draw if you manage to find someone who you connect with. It's a state of mind. People talk about how they "know" he/she is the one. They don't actually know, they have faith and high hopes based on the way the person makes them feel.
